Workers carry out routine maintenance on the Sky Eye, the world's largest and most sensitive radio telescope, in Southwest China's Guizhou Province on March 28.
The Sky Eye searches for gravitational waves, detects radio emissions from stars and galaxies and listens for signs of intelligent extraterrestrial life. So far it has discovered more than 300 pulsars.
The FAST telescope was completed in September 2016 and started formal operations in January 2020. FAST stands for Five-hundred meter Aperture Spherical Telescope.
Scientists from across the world can make FAST online appointments from April 1, according to the telescope’s operator, the National Astronomical Observatories of China, Chinese Academy of Sciences. (Photos: Xinhua)
