Villagers living in the mountainous area in Lianyungang, East China’s Jiangsu Province, used to find it difficult to reach the outside and get rid of poverty. A winding mountain road was built to help alleviate poverty of the four villages along the route.
Now the road promotes the local rural economy by delivering the farm produce, like tea, out of the mountain and developing rural tourism.
