A cross-railway overpass was successfully connected Wednesday on the extension line of Tinghong Road, Nanning, Guangxi Province. The right part of the bridge rotates nearly 110 degrees and connects to the left part, which has been rotated nearly 120 degrees before. According to reports, the bridge makes two new records as the largest rotation angle and smallest curve radius for a domestic high-speed railway bridge. (Photos: chinanews.com)
After two rotations of both parts, the extension line of the Tinghong Road was fully connected. Subsidiary construction and bridge approach will be accelerated next. The entire construction is expected to be completed and opened to traffic by the end of December.
One side of the bridge is located on a circular curve with a radius of 260 meters, which is the smallest curve radius in China. It has a large degree of curvature and a center of gravity which deviates from the center, which is extremely difficult to construct. Technical research, like sensor weighing, were carried out to complete the rotation.
Once open to traffic, it will greatly ease the congestion, improve the traffic capacity of the Shajing district and develop surrounding businesses, providing a more convenient traveling experience.
