The flood in Jintang County northeast of Chengdu City is subsiding. Rescue and dredging work is being carried out as part of post-disaster recovery work.
The Chengdu municipal government has rushed manpower and materials to Jintang. Local army forces are also fully committed to disaster relief, according to Chengdu Economic Daily on Thursday.

At a community in Ankang, Liu Fugui and his 18-year-old son Liu Renqiang row a wooden boat to help evacuate residents, especially senior citizens and children.
The son was pushing the boat while the father was baling water from the boat. Their boat went between Wenhua Road and Xingfu Road for more than two hours, helping more than 30 people to safety.
