A new regulation on the application and granting of residence permits for Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan residents living in the Chinese mainland was put into effect on Sept. 1. (Photos: Xinhua and IC)
With a residence permit, they will now enjoy more basic public services, and other conveniences relating to their study, work, business operation, and life in the mainland.
