School security guard wrote 4000 poems in the past 40 years

Jilin University security guard and poet released a poetry collection in 2015 with the help of the university's students. Zhang Chuanzhen, 70, had spent 40 years teaching Chinese literature at a high school in Jilin's provincial capital Changchun. Using his rich literary experience, Zhang had written over 4,000 poems in the past four decades.

One day Zhang decided to present his poems to students in the college by posting hard copies on the wall, triggering interest from students and netizens. Students decided to support his talent by helping him issue a collection of his poetry. The book includes 500 poems which are categorized by themes including travel, daily life and philosophical thoughts.
