Shared bikes of various colors array neatly at a temporary parking lot in Jinan city, Shandong province on Sunday. In the 5,300-square-meter parking lot, nearly 10,000 shared bikes fill the space, forming a kaleidoscopic panoramic view.

Since 2017, many brands for shared bikes have entered Jinan, providing a greener and healthier way of transportation for Jinan residents to explore each and every corner of their city. After the craze, however, the shortcomings of shared bikes, such as disorderly parking, also trouble the residents.

Many shared bikes are parked carelessly, blocking the pavement and causing inconvenience to the residents’ commute. From this year, the parking administration of the city will bring misplaced shared bikes to the centrally-organized parking lot to provide a temporary home for these still intact bikes.
