A new smart zebra crossing has been introduced at the crossroads between Nanjin Road and Yingkoudao in Heping District of northern China's Tianjin Municipality. The smart zebra crossing would remind drivers to yield to pedestrians and also to safely cross the road at night.

It is reported that the solar-powered lighting would automatically flash and change color according to the traffic signals.
