Bosten Lake is located in Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is the region's largest lake and one of the largest inland freshwater lakes in the country. Recently, the wetland of Bosten Lake has welcomed large flocks of waterfowl, and displayed beautiful scenery full of animals, lakes and reeds. The picturesque area is the result of decades of environmental protection by the local government.
