2020 China Cyber Games Summit kicks off

The fourth China Cyber Games Summit was held in Jiangdu district of Yangzhou, east China's Jiangsu Province on Wednesday.

Co-hosted by China Association of Trade in Services (CATIS), local government and China National Sports Group (CNSG), the summit was attended by dozens of industry leading enterprises including NetEase (NTES), Esports Capital, Changing E-SPORT Media, Bilibili, World Elite, LGD-Gaming, and 200 other guests, to jointly explore the development path of China's e-sports industry, in a move to build Jiangdu the “E-sports capital of Yangtze River Delta”.

“The chances come from the most promising industries, which are also new engines to stimulate the vitality of the economy”, said Zhang Tong, Secretary of Jiangdu District Party Committee during a speech. He said the Jiangdu District has been committed to innovating relevant policies and encouraging the development of digital economy and E-sports industry in recent years, for example, setting up various foundations and special supporting policies.

“We will make efforts on cracking the bottleneck of the E-sports industry and provide more aid on key matters such as talent pool, venues, finance and technologies”, Zhang said, saying an annual fund of 300 million yuan will also be taken out to introduce industry leading enterprises, build up top-level IP and assist innovations and entrepreneurship.

At the summit, the government of Jiangdu District signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China National Cyber Games (CNCG), Vast Moving Media Co., Ltd, and other powerful enterprises. Major projects such as the E-sports talent training base and the E-sports digital entertainment industry base of Yangtze River Delta, the national sports industry research base of the Peking University, the Industry-University-Research (IUR) cooperation base of Jiangdu and the E-sports Master Studio announced official launches in Jiangdu District at the scene. Two high-end events including the International E-sports Invitational Competition and the "Stars of The Canal" entertainment and cultural innovation competition also declared to be held in Jiangdu District next year.

Focused on "globalization of E-sports", "commercialization of E-sports" and "cross-border integration of E-sports", industry masters such as Yoyo Chen Youyou, President of BiliBili, Sky Li Xiaofeng, founder of WE Club and CEO of Taidu, Pan Jie, CEO of the LGD-Gaming, Gu Yuhao, chairman of Esports Capital, Li Yimeng, head of Marketing Department of SPORTFIVE/ Lagardere Sports and Fan Fuliang, CEO of Changing E-SPORT Media delivered keynote speeches, and shared their practice and forward-looking insights on new pattern of the development of E-sports under at new age.

The Jiangdu District, in recent years, has taken the initiative to integrate into the "One Body Two Wings" urban development pattern of Yangzhou, and has become the pacesetter in urban construction and economic development thanks to its unique nature, ecology and geography, which gathered a strong advantage for the development of E-sports industry and has attracted a series of high-quality projects. The successful conference this time will further promote the innovative integration of E-sports culture with Yangzhou ancient culture, Grand Canal Culture and modern civilization, stimulate the vitality of the city, and will expand the international popularity and reputation of the city, as an effort to add a brilliant new chapter of the E-sports industry in Jiangdu District.
