All-Chinese final set in mixed doubles at Badminton Asia Championships

DUBAI, April 30 (Xinhua) -- Chinese mixed doubles pair Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong will face their compatriots Jiang Zhenbang and Wei Yaxin in the final of the Badminton Asia Championships here on Sunday.

Top seeds Zheng and Huang, who beat Wang Yilyu/Huang Dongping in last year's final, were only one step away from defending the title as they thrashed Malaysian duo Goh Soon Huat/Lai Shevon Jemie 21-11, 21-13 in just 26 minutes on Saturday.

Youngsters Jiang and Wei reached the final in their first appearance in the tournament after beating Indonesian pair Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja 21-17, 21-15.

In the women's singles, South Korean second seed An Se-young rallied past Olympic champion Chen Yufei of China in a three-set thriller. An lost the first set 21-16 before clawing back 21-11, 21-19 in the next two, marking the third consecutive victory against Chen.

An will in the final face Chinese Taipei's Tai Tzu-ying, who edged favorite Akane Yamaguchi of Japan 21-12, 16-21, 21-15.

In the men's singles, Singapore's seventh seed Loh Kean Yew advanced to the final after downing China's Lu Guangzu in straight sets, while Indonesian star Anthony Sinisuka Ginting defeat Japan's Kanta Tsuneyama in the semifinals.

The women's doubles will see Japan's Yuki Fukushima/Sayaka Hirota play against Baek Ha Na/Lee So Hee of South Korea in the final, while the men's doubles final will feature Malaysian pair Ong Yew Sin/Teo Ee Yi and Indian team of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty.
