Preparations for the games are currently underway as workers are putting the finishing touches to the National Alpine Skiing Center and National Sliding Center. Three non-competition venues in Yanqing district are under renovation, and the construction of other supporting facilities in the area concerning epidemic prevention and barrier-free utilities is advancing.

Earlier in February, the National Alpine Skiing Center and National Sliding Center passed a series of testing events.

As of now, construction work on the Yanqing Winter Olympic Village has largely been completed. The high-speed railway line connecting Beijing and Zhangjiakou as well as the highway between Beijing and Chongli are now open to traffic. Meanwhile, 95% of the ecological restoration plan for the Yanqing competition zone is complete.

Next, the local government plans to formulate and introduce a set of working mechanisms and a commanding system for the smooth operation of the Yanqing competition zone. Catering and dining services will also be improved, and relevant training sessions will be provided to hotels in the region to improve their capacity for receiving foreign guests.

In addition, Yanqing district will develop a cultural tourism belt area and further develop the area into an international-level ski resort. In the meantime, the local government will also promote snow sports among Chinese citizens and develop its snow sports industry.
