BEIJING, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) -- The Zhejiang Lions consolidated top spot in the Chinese Basketball Association league standings after a 109-82 thrashing of the Guangzhou Loong Lions, while the Jiangsu Dragons stunned the Shandong Heroes 106-101 in overtime for their third win of the season as the 16th round of games concluded on Sunday.

Zhejiang began to take control in the second quarter, outscoring Guangzhou 35-21 for a 17-point halftime lead. The visiting team could not get closer than 10 points in the second half.

The win moves Zhejiang to a win-loss record of 14-2. Barry Brown led six Zhejiang players in double figures with 24 points. Hu Jinqiu and Rayjon Tucker had 16 and 15 points, respectively.

"We got into the game early, with more concentration on both defense and offense. Our players also did well on sharing the ball," Zhejiang coach Wang Bo said after the win.

Facing top-five outfit Shandong, Jiangsu saw its five-point halftime lead turn into an eight-point deficit after three quarters, before regrouping in the fourth quarter to force overtime.

Jiangsu led 102-93 with one minute left to play in overtime, but Chen Linjian's two 3-pointers helped Shandong trim the deficit to one point. However, Yu Dehao's offensive foul proved costly as Jiangsu held on with free throws, snapping Shandong's eight-game winning streak.

Rookie point guard Pang Zhenglin led the win with 26 points, eight rebounds and 13 assists, becoming Jiangsu's third domestic player with 26 points and 10 assists in a game, after legends Hu Weidong and Hu Xuefeng. On the Shandong side, Chen scored 24 points on 6-of-9 3-point shooting in a losing cause.

"We will continue our resilience in the upcoming matches," said Pang.
