An Olympic medal reallocation ceremony was held on Sunday at the biathlon venue of the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, honoring athletes from events at the Vancouver 2010 and Sochi 2014 Winter Games.

The ceremony took place between the men's and women's biathlon pursuit competitions, with International Olympic Committee President Kirsty Coventry in attendance.

Silver medallists Austria's Christoph Sumann, Daniel Mesotitsch, Simon Eder, Domonik Landertinger, gold medallists Germany's Erik Lesser, Daniel Boehm, Arnd Peiffer, Simon Schempp and bronze medallists Norway's Tarjei Boe, Johannes Thingnes Boe, Ole Einar Bjorndalen, Emil Hegle Svendsen pose on the podium of the medal reallocation ceremony of the Sochi 2014 biathlon men's 4x7.5km relay event during the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games at the Anterselva Biathlon Arena (Sudtirol Arena) in Anterselva (Val Pusteria) on February 15, 2026. The medal reallocation followed the disqualification of Russian biathlete Yevgeny Ustyugov for violations of anti-doping regulations, resulting in the annulment of all his competition results between 2010 and 2014.

According to the updated results, the men's 15km mass start at Vancouver 2010 was reclassified with gold awarded to Martin Fourcade of France, silver to Slovakia's Pavol Hurajt, and bronze to Christoph Sumann of Austria.

Medals from the men's 4x7.5km relay at Sochi 2014 were reassigned to Germany (gold), Austria (silver) and Norway (bronze).

World Anti-Doping Agency President Witold Banka congratulated the athletes in a statement, saying that WADA was pleased to see them finally receive their medals. He also thanked the International Biathlon Union and the Biathlon Integrity Unit for cooperating with WADA in pursuing anti-doping violations.

"WADA and the clean sport community have been working tirelessly to disqualify cheats, withdraw their medals and reallocate them to the deserving recipients. I am delighted that finally these biathletes will have the Olympic podium moment that they deserve." Banka stated.

It was also announced that the reallocated bronze medal from the men's 4x7.5km relay at Vancouver 2010 will be presented to Sweden at a separate ceremony scheduled to take place in Stockholm on March 2, 2026.
