The third weekend of the FIM Supersport World Championship took place at the TT Assen Circuit for the Pirelli Dutch Round, where China's ZXMOTO rider Valentin Debise finished fourth in WorldSSP Race 1 on Saturday.
Race 1 covered 18 laps and a total distance of 81.756 kilometers, with 34 riders on the grid. Debise, who clinched a historic double victory for Chinese manufacturer ZXMOTO at Portimao last month, lined up in the second position on his ZXMOTO 820RR-RS.
The French biker engaged in an early one-on-one battle with Yamaha's Can Oncu, before they were caught by the chasing pack. Following contact between Oncu and Triumph's Tom Booth-Amos, Debise stayed on course to reach the podium. But he ran wide in the final dash to the line and was demoted to fourth place due to a penalty.
Ducati's Jaume Masia claimed top honors after a strong late-race comeback, earning maximum Race 1 points. He finished ahead of Yamaha's Albert Arenas, who took his third podium of the season, finishing just ahead of Booth-Amos in third place.
