Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen is reportedly on the mend and may soon be released from the hospital following a concerning incident during a friendly match against Ukraine.
The 34-year-old clutched his chest before dropping to the ground in the 65th minute of the game held in Odense. After being swiftly attended to by medical staff, Eriksen demonstrated his resilience by walking off the field unaided.
The Wolfsburg midfielder underwent a series of tests in the hospital, and the Denmark team physician has since confirmed that Eriksen is doing well.
This incident resonates deeply, given Eriksen's history with heart-related issues; he famously suffered a cardiac arrest while playing for Denmark during the Euros in 2021, subsequently having a pacemaker fitted.
Despite these challenges, Eriksen has made six appearances for the national team this year, although Denmark did not qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
