Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa has announced his retirement from football after a professional career spanning more than two decades.

The 41-year-old announced his decision on social media after playing in his sixth World Cup.

"I gave it my all, I left everything on the field for my clubs and the national team, and today I hang up my gloves," he said on social media.

Ochoa played the last 12 minutes of Mexico's win over the Czech Republic on June 24, his only appearance at this year's World Cup.

He was capped 154 times for Mexico between 2005 and 2026.
