China continued its strong start at the FIBA International Solidarity Cup, defeating Georgia 74-63 in Haikou, south China's Hainan Province, on Friday to secure the team's second consecutive victory.

Playing without the rested Zhao Jiwei and Hu Jinqiu, China relied on a younger group featuring Liao Sanning, Li Hongquan, Jiao Boqiao, He Xining and Zhu Junlong in the starting five.

Georgia made a strong start and led 18-16 after the first quarter, but China responded in the second period, taking a 46-42 advantage into halftime. The host then extended its advantage in the second half, limiting attacking opportunities for Georgia to seal an 11-point victory.

Liao Sanning led China with a team-high 18 points, adding three rebounds as he continued to impress during the tournament. Li Hongquan contributed 14 points, while Pang Zhenglin scored 12 off the bench, and He Xining contributed nine, helping China maintain control despite some struggles in the game when it came to shooting.

While China struggled with long-range shots, the team made up for it with playmaking and decision making. The host dominated the rebounding battle and created extra scoring opportunities via second-chance possessions.

The victory followed China's opening 113-79 win over Cameroon, giving the team a perfect 2-0 record in the four-team tournament. China will face the African nation again on Monday and is set to continue using the competition to test its younger players in preparation for further big international tests.
