World No. 1 Judd Trump clinched the Shanghai Masters title for the second time in his career, dethroning defending champion Kyren Wilson after a commanding 11-6 victory on Sunday.

Trump dominated this all-English encounter from the outset, controlling the opening session by swiftly racing to a 7-3 lead. His clinical performance included taking three consecutive frames, leaving him in full command heading into the second session.

The tension heightened as the second session got underway, briefly interrupted when a bug landed on the table. Wilson responded swiftly, swatting away the insect and allowing play to resume. But a miscalculated safety shot on the yellow handed the initiative squarely to Trump, who capitalized by snatching the frame and extending his lead to 9-5 at the intermission.

In the pivotal 15th frame, Trump showcased his tactical prowess with a superb snooker while Wilson conceded 14 points on fouls, an uncharacteristic slip. Wilson then left a free ball on the table and Trump seized the opportunity, reeling off a break of 51 to move one frame from victory.

Wilson, refusing to capitulate easily, kept the match alive with an impressive 134 break. That effort sparked hopes of a comeback, but he missed a mid-range pot to the middle pocket in the subsequent frame, allowing Trump to pounce. The World No. 1 executed a flawless clearance, sealing the match with an 11-6 victory to capture his second Shanghai Masters title in three years.
