Iran's Mohammadreza Tayebise breaks men's shot put Asian Games record

NAGOYA, Japan, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Mohammadreza Tayebise won the Asian Games men's shot put title on Saturday with a Games record of 20.81 meters. He surpassed the 20.75m mark set by India's Tajinderpal Singh Toor at the 2018 Jakarta Games.

Tayebise's record throw ended Tajinderpal Singh Toor's bid for a third straight Asian Games title. The Indian took silver with 20.64m, 17 centimeters behind Tayebise, while Mohammed Tolu of Saudi Arabia claimed bronze with 20.48m. China's Xing Jialiang finished fourth with 19.50m.
