ACCRA, March 18 (Xinhua) -- Ghana's Herbert Mensah was elected as president of Rugby Africa, governing body of the game on the continent, during the body's annual general meeting in South Africa Saturday, the new official disclosed in a tweet.

The tweet contained a congratulatory message from Rugby Africa to Mensah for emerging as the winner in the 2023 elections of the continental governing body.

Mensah polled 30 out of the 32 votes cast to secure the position. Congratulatory messages from Ghanaian rugby fans poured in after Mensah declared the win.
