At the opening ceremony of the 2020 ITTF Finals, ITTF CEO Steve Dainton expressed his heartfelt thanks to all those who participated in the event and showed special gratitude to China.

Dainton said that without China’s full support, the international table tennis events could not be resumed smoothly. “Getting the players back to court as soon as possible was my original motivation for planning the RESTART series,” Denton said.

China’s control and treatment of the pandemic is much better than any other country in the world, and the Chinese Table Tennis Association (CTTA) has done an amazing job, which has proven China’s ability to help sports return to the international stage. The successful ending of the ITTF RESTART series in China is a dream realization for the sports industry, the ITTF, the world table tennis family, as well as players, fans and associations around the world, Dainton said.
