The Premier League announced on Saturday that no new positive cases were detected in the latest round of tests conducted on 1,195 players.

The tests, the sixth round since clubs resumed training in the English top-flight league, were carried out on Thursday and Friday.

There had been 13 positive cases out of 5,079 tests across the previous five rounds of testing.

"The Premier League is providing this aggregated information for the purposes of competition integrity and transparency."

The League clubs announced on Thursday that clubs will be allowed to use five substitutes during matches, rather than the usual three, when the season resumes on June 17. "For the remainder of the 2019/20 season, the number of substitutes that can be used during a match will increase from three to five players,"a Premier League statement said after a meeting of shareholders.

The changes will be temporary to mitigate the packed schedule clubs will have after a three-month suspension to the season caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

There are 92 outstanding fixtures with the majority of teams facing nine matches in a six-week period.

Some initial fixtures have been confirmed, starting with two matches as Manchester City face Arsenal while Aston Villa take on Sheffield United. The earliest Liverpool can win their first title in team history is on June 21 against Everton, given that Aresenal beat Man United in the same round.
