Premier League on Friday announced that it will support players' wishes to print the sentence on their shirts and take a knee in the games, becoming another sports league to give its voice for the ongoing "Black Lives Matter" movement all over the U.S.

"We, the Players, stand together with the singular objective of eradicating racial prejudice wherever it exists, to bring about a global society of inclusion, respect, and equal opportunities for All, regardless of their color or creed. This symbol is a sign of unity from all Players, all Staff, all Clubs, all Match Officials and the Premier League #blacklivesmatter #playerstogether," said the English top football league in an official statement.

"The Premier League stands alongside players, clubs, The FA, EFL, PFA, LMA, PGMOL and all those who oppose discrimination in any form."

The 2019-20 Premier League season, which was suspended by the COVID-19 pandemic, will resume on June 17. In the first 12 games, all players will have their names on their jerseys replaced with "Black Lives Matter." After that, the logo will remain on the clubs' jerseys for the rest of the season.

Moreover, the league will also support players who take a kneel before or in the games. "The Premier League believes there is no room for racism, anywhere," stressed the league.

Meanwhile, in order to thank the National Health Service (NHS) for all its work in battling the coronavirus, an NHS badge will also be added to every jersey.
