The men's and women's professional tennis circuits cancelled all this year's events in China over the coronavirus on Friday, including the Shanghai Masters and the WTA's season-ending Tour Finals.

"We are extremely disappointed that our world-class events in China will not take place this year," Steve Simon, head of the Women's Tennis Association, said in a statement. The men's Association of Tennis Professionals tweeted that the "2020 China tournament swing" has been cancelled.
