China reveals picture of its Mars probe for the first time

China's Mars probe made its debut on Friday as it is expected to be sent to Mars next year.

China's Mars probe is expected to land on the Red Planet in 2021, before the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Communist Party of China, according to Ye Peijian, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a senior space expert.

According to a previous plan, the probe, aboard a Long March 5  Launch Vehicle, is scheduled to launch next year and aims to complete orbiting, landing and roving in one mission.

The Mars exploration will be China's first of its kind as well as its first real planetary exploration mission. Only the United States and India have achieved Mars explorations.
