New infrastructure products and the technology of the power grid will be deeply integrated in the 3rd CIIE. A Shanghai branch of the State Grid Corporations of China, an important utility provider for the 3rd CIIE, has equipped its staff with AR glasses, who could use 5G technology to inspect and manage the real-time operation of devices.

The expo will also see a smarter command system of the power supply. Technologies of 5G mobile communication, the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System and Electric Internet of Things are converged and applied to a special emergency command vehicle at the expo, on which operators can give instructions to support emergency maintenance and repair.

The State Grid has also developed a new panoramic power system. This enables workers to keep track of overall power supply, real-time load, and emergencies on a high-definition screen.

Over 130 electrical substations and 5,400 kilometers of electrical transmission lines in Shanghai will provide the highest level of power supply guarantee.

A total of 129 emergency repair bases, 173 emergency repair spots, over 5,000 emergency repair staff and vehicles are also prepared to welcome the 3rd CIIE.
