China's tech giant Huawei has announced Tuesday that its 5G-based smartphone Mate 20X has acquired the country's first-ever 5G network access license for telecommunication equipment.

The company made the announcement on its official social media account.

The "network access license" is mandatory for telecommunication equipment in China. This obligatory license is applicable to telecommunication equipment which is connected to the public telecommunication network.
