The China Geographic Information Industry Development Report 2019 shows the strong developmental momentum of commercial remote sensing satellites, as there are more than 30 satellites in orbit in China, Science and Technology Daily reported on Friday.

According to the report, the "SuperView-1" satellite is the first commercial remote sensing satellite constellation with a resolution of 0.5 meters, which is made, launched and operated by China. The "Zhuhai-1" satellite is the only commercial hyper-spectrum satellite constellation in China to complete the launch and networking. The new high-score 03A satellite launched by the "Jilin-1" satellite in 2019 possesses the characteristics of having a low cost, low power consumption, low weight and high resolution.

It is reported that in 2019, the "Jilin-1" satellite will launch nine more satellites, while the "Zhuhai-1" satellite will launch five more satellites.

Up to now, there are currently 36 Beidou satellites in orbit, of which 22 are Beidou-3 satellites. Three were launched in 2019, and five to seven more will be launched in the coming months. A total of 30 Beidou-3 satellites will be launched and networked by the end of 2020. The overall construction of the satellite network will be completed to further improve the service of the system.
