To make sure that supplies of fresh products are sufficient amid the NCP outbreak, Dada Group recently launched a project to ensure that citizens will be able to purchase fresh vegetables, fruit, meat, diary products and so on to their homes with a click of their cellphones.

This project gives priority to the supply of fresh products and daily necessities from 7 to 10 am on JJDJ, the local retail platform of Dada Group, in an attempt to make sure people can purchase goods early in the morning and eat fresh food every day. By aligning with Walmart, Yonghui, and nearly 40 other supermarkets and chain stores, as well as 16 community-based supermarkets for fresh goods, Dada will give incentives to deliverymen to guarantee the timely delivery of goods.

Amid the NCP outbreak, citizens prefer online shopping instead of going out on their own. During the Spring Festival, retail sales surged by 470 percent on all e-commerce platforms. From January 25 to 30, the first six days of the Chinese lunar calendar, the sales of vegetables increased by 510 percent, with fruits up 300 percent, eggs 770 percent, and  frozen food 790 percent.

To cope with skyrocketing demand, Dada initiated the project with more than 1,000 offline retail stores, in 100 cities across the country. JJDJ took a series of measures to increase the supplies of goods, improve transportation, and supervise shoppers to avoid price hikes amid the virus outbreak. In the meantime, the “no-touch delivery service” provided by Dada and JJDJ will further guarantee the safety of delivery services.
