Some 7.2 million passenger trips are expected to be made by rail on Friday, the group added.

Each year, the two-month summer travel rush puts the country’s transportation system to test, as it is a peak for passenger flows of students, tourists and home-returnees. This year's summer travel rush lasts for 62 days from July 1 to August 31.

This year, in the face of the changing epidemic situations, the railway departments ensured the safe and smooth flow of trains with rigid enforcement of epidemic prevention and control rules and safety inspection measures, and improvement of service.

To satisfy the travel demand of passengers, China Railway Kunming Group increased passenger capacity between two tourist destinations, Lijiang and Xishuangbanna.

As for civil aviation, Hunan Airlines also added two new routes from August 10, providing more choices for passengers.
