The Great Wall at the section of Shixia Pass is known for its broken fragments and watchtowers dating back to ancient time.

This year Yanqing plans to establish 100 Great Wall-themed homestays at the Great Wall at Badaling and Jiuyanlou sections, as the district is noted for its Great Wall, natural landscape and rustic charm.

So far Yanqing has opened 100 boutique homestays in 15 townships. It will also establish 100 Winter Olympics-themed homestays with 5,000 beds ahead of 2022 as Yanqing is one of the 2022 Winter Olympics Games venues.

As the COVID-19 pandemic situation gets better in Beijing, homestay in the suburb including Yanqing, is reopening again and sees a surging reservation.

In order to alleviate the epidemic's impact, Yanqing issued relief measures to support the boutique homestays including postponing tax payment, financial assistance, marketing service and ensuring stability in employment.
