Qianmen Street, along with the adjacent Dashilan shopping street, is regarded as one of the oldest and most well-known shopping districts in Beijing. In recent years, Qianmen Street has become an iconic neighborhood that blends modernity with traditional Chinese culture.
Meanwhile, TaiKoo Li Sanlitun, one of the most popular shopping and lifestyle centers in China's capital, is famous for its plethora of flagship brick-and-mortar stores from world-renowned fashion brands.
Outside the city center, the Badaling Great Wall Tourism and Leisure District has fostered an innovative business environment, with unique cultural stores such as the Great Wall Memory store.
751D·PARK Fashion Plaza, Huaxi Live Wukesong and Zhongliang Xiangyun Small Town also made the list.
According to standards for rating tourist attractions and establishing leisure blocks, the areas are divided into national and provincial levels. The selection process for the first batch of tourism and leisure blocks in Beijing began in June and the 12 that made the list were reviewed and approved by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform.
In the future, Beijing plans to develop more national level tourism and leisure blocks.
