China's Jiangsu to offer free access to tourist spots during Spring Festival holiday

NANJING, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) -- East China's Jiangsu Province will offer free access to 315 A-level tourist attractions during the upcoming Spring Festival holiday as many people heed the country's call to stay put during the celebration, according to the provincial department of culture and tourism.

Migrant workers can also enjoy free visits, ticket discounts and coupons in nearly another 150 A-level tourist spots that charge entrance fees in the province during the holiday.

Jiangsu will run a series of online cultural activities and nearly 300 exhibitions in museums across the province, said Chang Shengmei, deputy director of the department.

The Spring Festival, also known as the Chinese Lunar New Year, is an important occasion for family reunions. It falls on Feb. 12 this year.
