Cathay Dragon flight from Kaohsiung to Hong Kong returned to Kaohsiung shortly after takeoff on Monday after an engine fire caused by a suspected bird strike, the Taiwan-based United Daily News reported online.

With 317 people on board, the plane landed safely, it said.
