The number of domestic tourist trips in China reached 6.522 billion in 2025, a year-on-year growth of 16.2 percent, according to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

In 2025, domestic residents spent 6.3 trillion yuan (about $905.5 billion) on travel, an increase of 550 billion yuan over 2024, representing a year-on-year growth of 9.5 percent.
