Mombasa-Nairobi railway has become a hot spot for tourists among all attractions in Kenya. As the first railway since Kenya's independence, the 480-kilometer-long railway opened in 2017, connected Kenya's capital Nairobi and the port city Mombasa, and adopted Chinese standards, technology and equipment for the build.

Shi Yingying, founder of the travel experience platform “Bobu Africa”, arranged trips on Mombasa-Nairobi railway for many Chinese tourists. "Chinese tourists are very proud of the railway when they take it," Shi said.

CNN Travel also included "Taking the Mombasa-Nairobi railway " in the 20-must-do list in Kenya.

The number of Chinese tourists to Kenya has increased year by year, with 81,700 Chinese tourists in 2018, an increase of 4.03 percent over the previous year, according to official data from Kenya. With the increasing tourist number, Chinese tourists intend to enjoy a more thorough understanding of local culture by deep and high-quality travel experience, industry insider said.
