Giant pandas are again expected to be a giant attraction during the upcoming Spring Festival, with the popular Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in southwest China's Sichuan Province taking measures to control the flow of visitors during the peak holiday season.

Staff at the base, which now boasts a panda population of well over 100, after being founded back in 1987 with just six bears, will put the plans in place from January 24 to 30.

During the holiday, when the number of visitors within the park reaches 22,000, the base will stop selling tickets, including online ticketing. Sales services will reopen when the number inside the base falls below 22,000.

Related departments have reminded visitors to check for notices on official websites and arrange their visits accordingly to avoid disappointment.
