The second China International Import Expo (CIIE) kicked off in Shanghai on Tuesday, with more than 3,000 companies from about 150 countries and regions attending. More representatives from the Fortune Global 500 list attended compared to the first expo, which shows that China is truly open to foreign trade and transnational companies in a demanding Chinese market.
In recent years, consumers have shown an increasing interest in imported products not only among Chinese residents, but also foreigners who live in China. People’s Daily invited two famous vloggers on Kwai, one of the world’s leading short video social platforms: Lee Heijin, a master’s student from South Korea at Tsinghua University and Professor David G. Evans, a distinguished professor from Beijing University of Chemical Technology from the United Kingdom, who have been staying in China for more than 20 years, to share their thoughts of how the Chinese market is becoming the one-stop shop.
