The International Horticultural Exhibition 2019 Beijing (Beijing Expo 2019) will soon begin its 30-day countdown, according to the Beijing World Horticultural Expo Coordination Bureau.
Meanwhile, comprehensive exercises and drills started Monday at the expo park and will last through April 20. So far, 110 countries and international organizations have confirmed their participation in the expo.
According to a person in charge at the coordination bureau, the exercises and drills will focus on 18 aspects, such as operational command, general control management, emergency management, venue management, zone management, concierge and reception, visitor service, security and ticket check, and traffic organization and management, in order to ensure that the expo can go on in an orderly manner.
According to reports, the paving of the eight main roads in the park and the projects of water supply, reclaimed water, sewage, gas, heating, and telecommunications have all been completed. The main venues including the International Pavilion and the Life Experience Pavilion, the key project of Yongning Pavilion, and the facilities like gallery frames and sculptures in the park are winding up. Besides, tree planting is basically completed, and work on shrubs, ground cover flowers, and lawns is scheduled to complete by April 10.
Expo 2019 Beijing is the highest-profile world horticultural exposition, with authorization by the Bureau International des Expositions and approval by the International Association of Horticultural Producers. The expo is sponsored by the Chinese government and hosted by the Beijing Municipal Government. It is scheduled to open from April 29 to Oct. 7, and organizers are anticipating a total number of 16 million visitors.
