Final work on the interiors of the terminals at the new Chengdu Tianfu International Airport is underway.
The airport in Southwest China’s Sichuan Province conducted a test flight last month.
The airport is being built with the participation of China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), the country's leading investment and construction group.
At present, the main buildings of the airport and supporting facilities have been basically completed. The airport has two terminals and six runways, making it the biggest international aviation hub in western China.
The interior of the terminals fully integrates the unique regional culture of Sichuan with images of Mount Qingcheng, Jiuzhaigou and Mount Emei, so passengers can see the beautiful scenery of Sichuan without leaving the building.
Moreover, the airport project is equipped with a personal rapid transit system, and a variety of intelligent self-service devices to help passengers pass customs quickly.
