Freddy Gahimbare, an undergraduate of medicine in South China's Guangdong Province, has recently composed the song "Be Strong" with his friend Nic, to praise the medical workers Guangdong sent to aid Wuhan, as well as to encourage all those people impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Remember you are not in this alone. Whenever you need us, we'll be there," Freddy and Nic sing in the song. "Be strong, hold on, the storm will pass away."
Freddy, a 28-year-old Burundian, studies medicine in Southern Medical University in Guangzhou, where he has lived for five years.
Since the epidemic broke out, he stayed in Guangzhou and joined a voluntary group the university organized on epidemic prevention and control.
"The beauty of Guangzhou and the enthusiasm of its people have never changed," Freddy said.
