How is a "frogman" trained? Today, let's watch a routine training session of the Underwater Assault Team of the China Jiaolong Special Forces.
The Underwater Assault Team of the China Jiaolong Special Forces consists of versatile soldiers capable of carrying missions under different circumstances, including air, land, sea and underwater. Those who want to join the assault team must go through more than a year of extremely intensive training, with an elimination rate of over 50 percent. After strict screening, the chosen people are considered the best. Praised as all-round players, the soldiers of the assault team are not only proficient in the use of hundreds of sophisticated weapons, but also have a good command of parachuting, demolition, diving, climbing, catching and grappling, and map recognition.
Bi Yechun, the deputy chief of staff of a brigade subordinate to the PLA Navy Marine Corps says, "For the soldiers of the Jiaolong assault team, small-scale missions of 1 to 2 personnel will be the new norm, so he must have a variety of skills to guarantee his survival and the mission's success."
