International sand sculptors from Canada, the Czech Republic, the United States and Singapore competed in sunny Key West, Florida this weekend at the 4th edition of the International Sand Art Competition. Using just sand and water-- without electric tools, molds or glue-- the artists spent up to four days creating huge renditions of people, children, animals and mythical creations. Organizers gave the Sculptor's Choice award to Abe Waterman of Canada's Prince Edward Island for his creation, "Take me Higher" and they gave the Conch Republic Award to St. Louis Missouri's Dan Belcher for "Seeing and Saying." Meanwhile, visitors gave the People's Choice Award to the Fish sculpture created by a Key West couple, Adam Russell and Kelly Lever.
