Dozens of people have died in avalanches or weather-related accidents across central Europe in recent days.
Strong winds and heavy snow on Monday continued to blanket the Austrian village of Lech am Arlberg, where at least three German tourists were killed by an avalanche on Saturday,
Locals were seen struggling to clear the roofs of their homes and other buildings from a thick layer of snow, while snow blowers were used in the gargantuan task of clearing roads.
