The British Consul General in Chongqing Stephen Ellison saved a student from drowning on Saturday when he was visiting Zhongshan Ancient Town in Southwest China’s Chongqing.

He was walking by a river in a nearby village and suddenly heard a cry for help. He dove into the water to the rescue. The young woman quickly started breathing and regained consciousness because of the timely rescue.

Ellison, a 61-year-old champion triathlete, has worked in the construction industry for more than 30 years around the world, and helped to build the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.
