Jia Weijun was 8 years old when he lost his hands in an electric shock accident. In 1995, he left his home village in the city of Baoji, Northwest China’s Shaanxi Province and headed for the capital Xi'an to teach himself calligraphy. Since then Jia has made a living from his brush. He can write up to 300 characters a day and also draw on folding fans.
