From May 18 to 19, President Xi Jinping will chair the China-Central Asia Summit in Xi'an, the capital city of China's Shaanxi Province. The five heads of state from five Central Asian countries will attend the summit.
This will be the first major diplomatic event that China hosts this year and the first in-person summit between heads of state of the six countries in the 31 years since China established diplomatic relations with these countries. It is a milestone in the history of relations between China and Central Asian countries.
