China is compelled to take reciprocal measures against certain countries persisting in adopting discriminatory entry restrictions against Chinese travelers, the foreign ministry said on Wednesday.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Mao Ning made the remarks at a regular press briefing in Beijing in response to a question about the introduction of COVID-19 tests on South Korean travelers to China.
"China is willing to work with all countries to better facilitate normal cross-border travel," Mao said, "However, following the discriminatory measures adopted by certain countries that target Chinese citizens, we are compelled to respond accordingly in line with the principle of reciprocity."
