A household name in the 1980s, the iconic actor and singer Fei Xiang, also known as Kris Phillips, has captured the hearts of young Chinese movie fans with his role in the Chinese mythology-adapted fantasy film "Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms." We had the opportunity to speak with the artist about the phenomenal film, how efforts behind the scenes contributed to its success and the role of art in bridging understanding between China and the West and between people from different cultures. (Produced by Wang Zi, Liang Peiyu, Li Bowen, and Di Jingyuan; Interns Li Guangao, Song Yanyan, Yang Shi and Liu Yixuan also contributed to the story.)
